For those looking for high-octane New Year’s Eve events on Bali, the Kuta, Legian and Seminyak beach strip of the island is the place to be. Each area offers events on a sliding scale of extravagance. The Kuta bar strip, running perpendicular to the beach, will boast the regular clubs and bars all vying to outdo each other with drink specials and low cover charges.
One option on Bali’s famous Kuta Beach is Double Six, a well-famed club famous for luring international DJ talent, as well as Bounty Discotheque, which is sure to promise a fantastic party with great dance shows and even door prizes. Sky Garden draws visitors from around the region with its drink specials – which are usually free!
Further toward Legian, hotels along the beach promenade offer New Year’s Eve dinner packages, usually including alcoholic beverages and entertainment, and of course a beautiful vista of the beach and fireworks.
A perfect family celebration in an otherwise wild Kuta beach area is at the local-favorite restaurant Ku De Ta, which is offering a one-stop delight this year, with an all inclusive ticket for food, drinks and entertainment including international jazz bands and DJs. Cocoon Beach Club typically steps up the glamor a notch by hosting a Bling New Year’s Eve party to ring in 2014.
Seminyak offers more exclusive, and slightly pricier, private parties at the major bars and clubs there. Discounts for booking tickets in advance are one incentive for getting in early–the other is that these parties sell out fast.
Potato Head in Seminyak usually tops the bill for best import entertainment and DJs on the night, while Jalan 66 on the beachfront caters to its swelling crowds by extending the club onto the beach itself for its annual affair. Another great option, Sip Grill and Wine Bar is boasting a five star menu with beachfront dining.
