Perhaps Southeast Asia’s most famous music festival, the five day four night yoga and dance fair known as the Bali Spirit Festival gives people of all walks of life an opportunity to bond over not just a flourishing local arts cultural, but on an international level as well, providing various workshops and community building events.
The festival was first held in 2008 and the number of those in attendance has grown stronger each year since as more and more people are drawn to Bali by the thousands on the message of community action and appreciation of diverse cultures.
This year, the event will occur between March 20 to 24 in Ubud, offering a diverse platform of family friendly events that includes terrific musical acts, ethnic dance performances and yogis.
At the Agung Rai Museum of Art’s outdoor stage, there will be ongoing world music concerts from performers hailing from Africa, Indonesia and Australia, while more contemporary styles will also be on offer.
Located just ten minutes south of Ubud, the always stunning and gentle atmosphere of the Purnati Center for the Arts in Batuan will have several workshops going that range from building handicrafts to learning traditional dance.
At the various vendors at the makeshift bazaars scattered about, one can buy loads of great ecologically sustainable goods, clothing, natural health and beauty products, CDs and DVDs. There will even be a night market from 5 pm to 11 pm at ARMA in Jln Pengosekan.
