As a beautiful coastal town full of artisans and culture, there are plenty of romantic things to do in Bali. If you’re feeling limber, a hike up Bali’s highest mountain, Mount Agung, affords one of the prettiest views in the country as you stand over the forests and clouds with a view of the mountainous countryside.
Where the main beaches of Bali are plenty beautiful, they are also quite crowded and can damper the romantic spirit. Try taking a ferry to the more isolated and equally impressive Gili Islands. Washed with white sandy beaches and blue water, you can watch the sun set in peace, get down some exotic scuba diving and even rent out of a couple of horses and trollop along the beach.
If you’re feeling parched, nothing beats a romantic feast at one of the many restaurants of Seminyak. A more high-end experience compared to the backpacker laden Kuta area, Seminyak restaurants provides the best ambiance, lush menus and a modern experience.
Getting around Bali to these destinations is easier than you think. Seminyak is walking distance from Legian and Kuta, so no problem. Trips to Mount Agung and the Gili Islands on the other hand will require booking transportation, which can be done at one of the many tour agents that are stashed around the Kuta area. Your best option is to do that at least a few days ahead of schedule as to avoid possible overbooking. Also, feel free to negotiate on the prices too, they will bite.
