If you’re planning a trip to Queensland’s Hamilton Island in July, you’ll be able to take part in one of Queensland’s premier gourmet events.

The Great Barrier Feast is a series of foodie events that take place over two days in June, July and November. Designed to tickle the tastebuds of any gourmand, the festival features master classes and sumptuous menus from some of Australia’s top chefs.

The July event features highly acclaimed chef Guillaume Brahimi (from Sydney’s celebrated Quay restaurant).  Enjoy a memorable welcome dinner on Friday evening, paired with wines chosen by renowned wine critic James Halliday. Then on Saturday learn the tricks of the trade as Gilmore shares his cooking secrets in a series of master classes. As the sun begins to set over beautiful Hamilton Island, you’ll be able to enjoy a showpiece dinner while watching the chef prepare your food via a live camera link-up.

Hamilton Island is part of a group of over 74 tropical islands that lie in the warm, rich waters of the Coral Sea close to the Great Barrier Reef. The largest of the Whitsunday Island resorts, Hamilton Island is a popular vacation spot and has a whole range of facilities, festivals and events to keep you entertained when you’re not sunning yourself on one of the island’s glorious beaches.

Check www.hamiltonisland.com.au for more details on the feast, which takes place from July 6-8.
