OK, here’s an up-front factoid about the city of Sharjah which might be a deal-breaker for some: it’s the capital of the only emirate in the UAE where alcohol is completely banned. Although the city abuts relatively liberal Dubai, its moral code is closer to Saudi Arabia’s.
