Couple enjoying Jamaica!

Often called one of the most romantic islands in the Caribbean, Jamaica is a top destination for honeymooning newlyweds. The island is home to more than 200 miles of pristine white-sand beaches; and there’s plenty of space for you to grab a spot along the famous Seven Mile Beach, a beautiful stretch of palm-fringed beachfront that runs along the western coast of the island. Here you’ll find some of the islands best resorts, restaurants and beach bars. Sip a Caribbean rum punch (the national drink of Jamaica), soak in the laid-back pace of island life and spend a romantic evening watching the sun set into the sea.

Spend the day exploring Montego Bay: a popular resort city, cruise port and the “tourism capital of Jamaica.” Learn about the rich history and culture of the island with visits to former sugar plantations and great houses in the Jamaican countryside; historic city tours of Falmouth and Negril; or a visit to the village of Nine Mile, the birthplace of world-famous Jamaican reggae artist Bob Marley. In the evening, enjoy a romantic sunset dinner cruise or a night cruise out on the lagoon.

The beach resort at Runaway Bay makes a pleasant day trip, as does the town of Ochos Rios, home to the famous Dunn’s River Falls. Adventurous couples honeymooning in Jamaica will enjoy a visit to the nearby Río Bueno River for kayaking, rafting, tubing and river boarding or a visit to Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, the longest mountain range on the island. Hike along the scenic mountain trail that leads up to Blue Mountain Peak, Jamaica’s highest peak, for spectacular panoramic views of the island.
