Country Music megastar, Garth Brooks has come out of retirement and is playing solo shows at the Las Vegas Wynn. In the midst of a five-year commitment streak, this is perhaps the last time the musician will be performing anywhere on stage.
His shows began with a loose edge, just Garth on-stage playing his hits, and talking to the crowd. In recent months however, reports suggest that there’s a more streamlined feel to Garth; it seems he no longer feels the need to respond to every boozy shout out or request. It’s still him in his button-down shirt and jeans, but there’s more of a progress to his performance – more of a polished punch to the act as he takes the audience down a memorable stroll through his career.
Still, what’s charming about the show isn’t just the tunes we all know and love, but more than that, it’s a chance to get to know the artist, to hear his story, and laugh at his quirky sense of humor. Friends that have went all loved the show, but some balked at the hefty price tag ($110+). Even so, reviewers and friends alike have all commented saying it’s a great experience. Since it’s perhaps one of the last times to see the man who brought Country Music into the mainstream, it’s worth it to get down there and check him out, even if it’s out of the hay and into the halogens: there’s no-one like Garth Brooks.
