The Nightclub and Bar Show Convention

Posted on May 15, 2011 in Festivals & Events.

Las Vegas is well known as the City of Sin for obvious, alcohol-fueled reasons. This week (March 7th – 9th) however, is, in one sense, the mother of all conventions then, as it is the Nightclub and Bar Show convention. These three days and nights are notorious bacchanalian extravaganzas where 31,000 of your favorite bartenders, club owners, promoters, and staff line the halls of a Las Vegas convention center and showcase the latest and greatest that the spirit industry has to offer.

Though perhaps intended for service industry professionals, the convention is a well-known festivity and open to the public or any interested party. Prices span the bar from super-premium passes at $570, to a-la-carte passes as little as $29 depending on what portion of the multiple-day event you wish to attend.

Events include bartender mixologist competitions (winner takes home a prize of $25,000), Top 100 and DJ Spin-Off party, Show and Glow Party, Key Note speaking events, and more exhibits than you can shake a stir-straw at. In addition to live bands playing the event, fine scotch, vodka, grappa, lemoncello, bourbon, gin, and tequila tastings, this upcoming week in Vegas will be especially spectacular as the convention exhibit hall opens on Fat Tuesday, aka Mardi Gras. Expect the City of Sin, then, to pull out all the stops this week, and be filled with the best the marshals of good times can produce.
