Lots of people have turned their sights on NASCAR this year, and not just the usual bunch. 2012 is set to be a record year for NASCAR, due to a major shift in its rulebook. Traditionally, NASCAR has made sure that every car racing in Stock Car Class is mechanically fed fuel by way of carburetors, not modern-day fuel injection, a stipulation which has limited the sport’s evolution in many senses. As of the beginning of 2012, however, that ban is lifted and modern technology is now on the track. The fast track, if you will. Vroom vroom!

What better time then, to visit Las Vegas and see NASCAR’s Kobalt Tools 400 this March 9-11.

Where’s the best place to see fireworks this New Year’s Eve? New York? Boston? Seattle? Think again. Las Vegas, being the city of excess that it is, is not to be done up in any arena, and certainly not that of showmanship. This year eight Las Vegas casinos will coordinate a firework spectacular in order to rival the very best in the world.

To those who think that the age of chivalry is over, think again. For the 18th year, a medieval wonderland will reveal itself in Las Vegas at Silver Bowl Park this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 7th – 9th at the Age of Chivalry – Las Vegas Renaissance Fair.

So we’ve all heard of Jerry Seinfeld. His signature brand of comedy kindled our hearts aflame with Seinfeld, the syndicated TV show of years past, and not much has changed in the intervening years. Since the dissolution of the iconic show based in New York City, he’s been touring the US and those of us that can’t seem to get enough of him, or even just remember fondly the sitcom we watched for so many years, have a chance now to see him again – in Las Vegas.

You might be more familiar with Vegas glitz and glamour, but Las Vegas is also the king of all convention centers, and that means its king of all that interests anybody, anywhere. So Vegas is home to some pretty exotic and esoteric stuff, but that just keeps drawing the crowds. Because let’s be honest. The more strange and exotic Vegas gets, the more people will want to come see what it’s doing next.

Picture a hundred thousand people, give or take, put them together, and you’ve got yourself a full-blown city of people. Now picture them done up in spectacular outfits, platform shoes, sparkly clothes, possibly on some designer drug, possibly inebriated, possibly in skate shoes, and you’ve got a bacchanalian event to make Hunter S. Las Vegas is well known as the City of Sin for obvious, alcohol-fueled reasons. March 7th – 9th however, is, in one sense, the mother of all conventions then, as it is the Nightclub and Bar Show convention. These 3 days and nights are notorious bacchanalian extravaganzas where 31,000 of your favorite bartenders, club owners, promoters, and staff line the halls of a Las Vegas convention center and showcase the latest and greatest that the spirit industry has to offer.
