A girls-only trip can come in all shapes and sizes these days – an extended birthday vacation, a quick sorority reunion, or even just a long weekend to take a break from work. The truth is, Miami has the right kind of partying style for any occasion, and the best occasion of all just might be the coveted girls weekend in Miami.

If you need some ideas to plan around, consider starting off the morning with a spa treatment for the group, since Miami is well-known for its pampering goodness. It also just so happens that Miami has a Spa Month in the summer, when premier spas offer discounts on treatments.

Learning something new is a great bonding experience for a group with different connections and familiarity levels (that is, if your sister, coworker and old roommate are all hanging out together for the first time). Surfing is a safe bet, especially because it gives everyone an excuse to hit the beach. If you’re feeling open-minded, pole-dancing lessons are becoming increasingly popular among bachelorette parties in Miami – not only is pole-dancing a legitimately intense workout for your core muscles, it’s also quite liberating and confidence-boosting. You can be sure everyone in your party will have broken the ice well enough by the end of your session!

If you or anyone else feels like spending some hard-earned cash, a mid-afternoon Miami shopping tour (or window-shopping!) is never far away, no matter where you are. Bayside Marketplace is a good option, and Lincoln Road and Aventura Mall have more than enough stores to peruse – everything from Lululemon Athletica and designer brands like Michael Kors to places like Pottery Barn and Anthropologie.

Of course, you can’t go to Miami and not spend some time on the beach. Depending on the vibe of the group, you can go to one of the main beaches to get social or head to a quieter beach to stretch out. For an extra special trip with the girls, book a speedboat ride, yacht, or sunset cruise.

At the end of the day (or beginning of the night – whichever way you want to look at it), you can take the gang to South Beach for a tour of Miami’s nightlife paradise. Upscale restaurants, clubs, and lounges set the ultimate bachelorette getaway vibe. If needed, you can always use the good old-fashioned trick of writing your hotel name and address on the back of all your girlfriends’ hands – just in case people get separated. Just make sure someone stays with the bride!
