We’re still a couple weeks out, but now seems to be as good a time as any to tell you about the upcoming New Orleans Seafood Festival. New Orleans is world-renowned for the taste and unrivaled quality of its seafood. Honoring that reputation, the organizers of the New Orleans Seafood Festival decided to get together and celebrate the fact, maybe even promote it to outsiders a bit. Heck, it’s New Orleans, for crying-out-loud, as if they need another reason to hold a festival!

Anyhow, in comes the seafood and the guests. This year is the 5th annual and it’s Friday, September 9th through Sunday the 11th down in Lafayette Square on St Charles Ave. Expect showings from the city’s finest in Seafood cuisine: Acme Oyster House, Remoulade, Drago’s, Galatoire’s, and Broussard’s, just to name a few.

The food’s not all, however. As with any New Orleans event, you can expect a great line-up of some of the city’s best musicians. Not everything has been confirmed, but expect the Zydeco Twisters, The Revivalists, and The Wise Guys to be present at some point or another.

So let’s recap: The best seafood restaurants in one of the seafood capitals of the world, great local music, New Orleans most talented craftspeople filling out the stalls for shopping and entertainment purposes… sounds like a pretty good time.

Oh, and all proceeds go to the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, so any bucks you spent, you can be happy seeing them go to a good cause. Can’t get much better than that! You see why I decided to tell you now….
