New York City Things to Do

Although New York City is not lacking in opportunities to observe it from within (like from the top of the Empire State Building), the skyline of the Big Apple is often best seen from around the city’s perimeter, sometimes at surprising – or fleeting – moments. Here are some of the best places from which to snap a photo of New York City, or, even better, from which to sit and appreciate all those skyscrapers and sparkles.

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic and historic symbol of New York City – but the Manhattan Bridge, often overlooked by visitors and overshadowed by its more famous neighbor down the river, has its own unique history and offers a one-of-a-kind view of the city at night.

In my opinion, merely watching the city go about its business is a sight to behold. Do yourself a favor and spend some time on a park bench or the like and see what the foot traffic looks like. Of course, you’ve probably come to New York City to see more than Central Park joggers or harried Manhattanites. New York does have some iconic landmarks; by taking a bus and walking tours, you’ll be sure to catch the highlights.
