Touring the City that Never Sleeps, aka the Big Apple, etc. is probably best done with a local who’s been living there forever and ever, but failing that, a good way to tour New York City is the Hop-On Hop-Off tours. On these double-decker buses, you’ll get to stop as many times and wherever you like. And so you don’t feel like you have to cram too much into one day, the passes are good for two days. You’ll catch all the sites Downtown (Macy’s, Soho), Uptown (Lincoln Center, Time Square) and other highlights such as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

Of course, you’ve probably come to New York City to see more than Central Park joggers or harried Manhattanites. New York does have some iconic landmarks; by taking a bus and walking tours, you’ll be sure to catch the highlights.
