Let’s be honest, anyone who’s been out in the Orlando summertime heat knows that it’s nothing to scoff at. It’s hot, the air is thick, and what you wouldn’t give for just, say, a big cooler to walk into and sit in—maybe enjoy a tasty beverage. Well, it’s not exactly a walk-in, but the Icebar Orlando is perhaps something even *ahem* cooler.

Icebar Orlando is the largest permanent icebar in the world. With over 50 tons of carved ice, you’ll walk into this arctic palace and believe in global warming no more. A bit on the exotic side, though it may be hot outside, be ready to cuddle up next to your neighbor, because it’s cold in the Icebar! Events are happening nightly here, but the bar is always open to the public—even those aged 8–20 may enter to check out the amazing ambiance and ice sculptures, but only between 7:00 and 9:00pm. Featured as one of the top 10 “Extreme Barhopping” bars on the Travel Channel and one of “America’s Best” on the Food Network, this polar bar has got people coming in droves to escape the heat.
Smart casual attire is recommended, as are close-toed shoes, for though not all of the Icebar is kept below freezing, it’s where the party is. Coats and jackets are provided, and fur coats can be rented for an additional $10. Sip a cocktail, grab a penguin pizza, and head over to the ice throne where animal skins will make you feel more like Leif Ericson than your usual mild-mannered nightclub alter-ego.
The Icebar Orlando typically has a $20 cover charge, and is open from:
