Yes, you can go to Paris from London on a day trip! The journey takes you from London’s St Pancras International station to Paris Gare du Nord via the Chunnel in just 2.5 hours. With that kind of fast travel, you can get in a bit of sightseeing in Paris before sitting down to lunch, and have the entire afternoon and early evening as well – even an early dinner can be squeezed in!

Normandy Day Trips

The D-Day landings on June 6, 1944 were the beginning of the end of World War II much due to the heroic action by Allied troops including US and British forces, to begin taking Europe back from the Nazis.

The 50-mile (80-km) stretch of beaches codenamed Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword are now one of the most visited sites in France, housing memorial museums (at Caen and Bayeaux), cemeteries (Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial) and a self-guided walk at Omaha Beach (Circuit de la Plage d’Omaha), the site of the worst fighting.

The Musée d’Orsay and Renovations

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the brand new renovations at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris. The museum did a lot of work and it was nothing short of incredible!

Because I was with a Skip the Line: Musee d’Orsay Small Group Tour, I was able to skip the long, tedious line outside. Once we were inside the museum, we got a quick peek of the new renovations, and then went on to tour the rest of the museum.

Think about your itinerary before you purchase a tour package

What’s the best way to see Paris? If you ask me, I think it’s helpful with a guided tour. After all, lots of people who travel may only be going to a given city once in their lives, so I think it’s worth the money to have a good itinerary, preferably steered by someone who knows what he or she is talking about. Like a lot of other cities of the world, Paris has plenty of tour options for you to choose from.
