It’s that time of year again, and everyone is gearing up for the beginning of fall and with that comes the beginning of holiday season. This means that not only does the weather start to cool off (finally!) and the leaves yellow, but it also means that Halloween is right around the corner.

San Diego is a young, vibrant town, and being this, loves a good time. Halloween is the beginning of this great kickoff into holiday season, and if you’re looking for a great party to ring in the change of seasons, the San Diego Monster Bash is the way to do it. Saturday, October 27th from 6pm to midnight, djs, live bands, lightshows, restaurants, and costumes galore fill the Gaslamp Quarter with Dos Equis 12th annual Monster Bash. With eight stages, 10 bars, 50 toxic dancers and thousands of party-goers, this is the Halloween event for the young club-goer.

If this doesn’t sound like your particular cup of goblin tea, however, rest assured, there are plenty of other options. Consider the Gaslamp Quarter your go-to center for all major activities, however, as this is the cultural center of San Diego and it’s from here that most of the area’s cosmopolitan events spring. The Hard Rock Hotel offers a ghost-filled weekend full of partying and costumed events, while the Haunted Hotel is San Diego’s longest-running haunted house and both are conveniently located in the Gaslamp Quarter.

If you’re looking for something outdoorsy to do, consider Balboa Park’s Haunted Trail. This is essentially an all-outdoors haunted house and here, fairy-tale horrors come to life. A great and spooky way to explore the unrivaled best park in San Diego while getting your Halloween thrills and spending some quality outdoors time.
