One of the best ways to get the family out for some fun outdoor activities is at the Pasir Ris, arguably one of the best parks in Singapore. With fabulous view of the coast, this lovely park–strewn with nature trails, barbeque pits and playgrounds—makes for one of the easiest and cheaper ways to spend a day out. Depending on what day you turn up, there are also a number of other great options including tours through a mangroves swamp and kids can even get onto a pony for a little ride. To get there, simply grab the 403 bus to the Pasir Ris station.
For more of a laid back style afternoon, the Sembawang Park in northern Singapore, facing the Johore straits, gives you the best opportunity to picnic or lay out in peace. Sprawling across 15 hectares, or 37 acres, this park contains one of the last remaining natural beaches in town, while scattered picnic tables and barbeque pits give any family plenty of room.
With dozens of great park spaces to enjoy in Singapore, there are at least a few more you will want to experience. At Mount Faber Park, which overlooks the city, one can enjoy a romantic sunset stroll as the city begins to light up before your very eyes, white fitness lovers can swing down to Bedok Reservoir Park for some adventurous kayaking, boating and other fun water activities. Otherwise, ask your friendly hotel info person what is near you–there is sure to be something.
