Singapore has quickly become one of the party capitals of Asia and whether beer, wine or a cocktail is your poison there is a pub or bar to suit your whims. The best pubs and bars in Singapore are not necessarily all in the same area so you may need to plot your evening via cabs or the underground before heading out on the town.
Also, be prepared that the Singapore drinking scene is a “scene to be seen in” so leave your shorts, flip-flops and t-shirts at home. Most bars have a dress code that will require smart casual for both sexes and dress shoes and a collared shirt for men.
Roof top bar Ku De Ta is a local favorite with the beautiful people so ramp up the style a little here to grab a sunset cocktail. Lantern bar is another roof top favorite. If you are clever, time a visit to this bar with the Marina Bay Lights Show for one of the best views in the entire city.
A lot of tourist pubs and bars are congregated around the Boat Quay, where the Penny Black Pub, located at the start of the strip, is a great meeting point to begin your night crawl.
Not far from the Penny Black Pub is the Red Dot Brewhouse, which is Singapore’s first independently owned microbrewery, perfect for an afternoon reprieve!
If your budget is flexible then head to the clubs on Sentosa Island and hit up one of the parties such as at the Tanjong Beach Club, which turns into one of the hippest hotspots on the island every Sunday at sundown.
