Murcia in south-eastern Spain is best known for it’s 15th Century Castilian Gothic Cathedral, Bishop’s Palace and Glorieta Plaza (city square) on the banks of the Segura River. That is all about to change, as the rumors have been confirmed and although developers are still looking for funding, the Paramount Theme Park is likely to open in Murcia in 2015. The proposed location in the area of Alhama de Murcia next to a golf resort, if all goes according to plan.

The park opens with Paseo Paramount, the entry boulevard with a live musical review celebrating the School of Rock show, and features lands such as Rango’s West with fittingly rugged landscapes amidst wide open spaces and the promise of environmental dining experiences and a 4D film adventures, a wet and wild waterway and rollercoaster.

Visitors can expect a wild ride on the very latest of fun park technology, including the Mission Impossible: 4D Dark Ride, whatever that turns out to be… apparently a sensational ride that combines 3D film, effects and scenery through an extraordinary virtual world in Adventure City. Themed rides based on Grease and Titanic are accompanied by an exhibition that promises to take you into the powerful emotional drama of these unforgettable stories.

Woodland Fantasy guides you through a series of 3D projected fantasy scenes, with holographic projection for an extra-real experience, or take a journey to the stars on the warp speed coaster in the Star Trek simulation. This will give the Almudi Palace and La Fuensanta sanctuary a run for their money.
