Did you know that Sydney has a red light district as storied at the one in Amsterdam? It’s called King’s Cross, and at one point, it was as seedy and rough-and-tumble as its notorious, Low Country counterpart. Nowadays, however, King’s Cross is a bohemian neighborhood of artists, musicans, bars and restaurants. It still maintains an element of edgy excitement, but now it’s a bonafide entertainment district.

Touring Sydney really depends on a couple things: price and mode of transportation. Sydney Harbor Tours typically involve a helicopter or a seaplane and they can run from around $150 on up to over $900. While I’ve never gone on the latter, the one I found takes you over the city and up the coast to Hunter Valley, where you’ll get a private wine tasting and a two-course gourmet lunch–it’s obviously for luxury-minded travelers, but it looks worth the expenditure if you’re into that sort of thing.
