As much a convenient sight-seeing tour as a cosmopolitan safari, a trip to Sydney’s Taronga Zoo is a desirable destination for tourists and denizens of the city alike.

Taronga Zoo has been named the ‘Best Major Attraction’ at the recent 2011 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. This coveted award recognises and promotes excellence in Australian tourism and is the Australian travel industry’s biggest and most significant event of the year.

Day Trips from Sydney to the Blue Mountains
August 5, 2010
Day trips from Sydney include wildlife and eco tours to the Blue Mountains, surf trips , wine tasting and more. If you’ve already gone to the Taronga Zoo, I’d suggest either booking a surf trip (some are for a day, others are overnight for five days) or a 4WD cruise to Port Stephens. This last takes you to the coastal township of Port Stephens and includes a dolphin cruise (where you board a luxury cruiser and watch dolphins in their natural habitat), a stop at the Australian Reptile Park and Stockton Bright, where you can try sandboarding on the dunes.
