Enter through the Tic Tac Castle into every girly girl’s fantasy world. Attractions include Kitty’s house (complete with Renaissance style family portraits, furniture and accessory displays), a Sanrio character boat ride (that takes you past their ‘homes’), an entertainment hall and two theaters that regularly feature live shows.

Housed in a theatrical looking and puppet-sized building (by Tokyo-standards) in Shinjuku, Puppet Theatre PUK has been charming children and adults with its puppet shows since 1929.

Tokyo is a wonderful place. It used to be very expensive, but 20 years of economic slowness has made it quite affordable. You can indulge yourself in history, modern culture, consumerism and lots of food. I’ve been to Tokyo many times and when people ask “what should I do in Tokyo” I can finally stop repeating myself and tell them to read this blog.

Tokyo is not a city that immediately springs to mind when thinking of child-friendly places to take the kids. While parks and playgrounds may be thin on the ground in Tokyo, there’s plenty to keep the little people entertained.
