Dedicated readers of the Viator blog will know how much we enjoy Toronto. As Kelly rightfully declared in her own love letter to Toronto, there are plenty of reasons to love this city. Great restaurants. The Hockey Hall of Fame. The Toronto Blue Jays. An eminently TV- and movie-friendly skyline (who knew Detroit Rock City and Good Will Hunting and Police Academy 1 – 4 were all filmed here!). Toronto is Ontario’s capital and the largest city in Canada; so please, let’s show the city some respect. It’s diverse, culturally enlightened, and easy to reach. Its downtown is also manageably small (in a good way) with numerous quirky neighborhoods and ethnic enclaves keeping the city from getting stale and predictable.

A Day Trip to Niagara Falls from Toronto

I suspect that even Chuck Norris would quiver a little at the sight of Niagara Falls. I’m sure many turn up thinking they’re about to see one of the highest waterfalls in the world, but that’s a mistake. The Falls at Niagara aren’t particularly lofty, but they sure are powerful. It’s the force and volume of water passing over the brutalised escarpment that are spellbinding, not where the water is dropping from.

Island Life in Toronto

People who have never visited Toronto are often unaware that there is actually a chain of small islands in Lake Ontario just offshore from downtown that are called, fittingly, the Toronto Islands. You can get there by taking a ferry from the (again, aptly-named) Ferrydocks.
