Go to San Gimignano for a medieval fair this summer!

If you’re traveling the towns and villages of Tuscany this summer and feel like you’ve just walked into a time warp, you’ve probably lucked out and hit upon a Medieval Fair. Every year a few towns throw themselves wholeheartedly into days-gone-by and dress up in medieval costumes, entertain with storytellers and wandering minstrels, showcase ancient arts like blacksmithing and candlemaking, and generally celebrate the things that made their towns what they are. Cinque Terre: Views and Food

Cinque Terre contains lovely villages built into the hills.

The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. Cinque Terre means Five Lands and comprises of the five small villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso.
