In 1961, the founder of the Washington Ballet in Washington DC, Mary Day, created the company’s first performance of The Nutcracker. Starting on December 1st this year at the Warner Theatre and running almost every day up until Christmas Eve, the Washington Ballet will be continuing this now 50-year-old tradition delighting families with one of the most memorable Christmastime shows in the country.
