With the much-anticipated presidential election quickly approaching, there’s tons of excitement going on in Washington DC. To celebrate the upcoming day, Viator is hosting a free event the Saturday before the election, letting you be part of the action!
Join us for an exclusive tour of DC on November 3rd to witness first-hand how the capital is preparing for the big day, and to learn a bit about the history of DC, the US government and democracy in our beautiful nation.
You’ll be led by one of Viator’s top-rated tour guides, Maricar Donato, on a 2-hour walking tour to several top DC attractions. Maricar brings more than 30 years of experience in tourism and special event planning, and will surely captivate you with her fun, charismatic and passionate character, plus her wealth of knowledge (sneak preview: she speaks six—six!—different languages).
Visit the US Capitol to see the construction of the Inaugural Stage, where the newly elected president will be sworn into office for his four-year term. Stop by the Newseum—which is exactly what it sounds like—to see a large print display of the 1st Amendment. Even better: Enter the National Archives Building, where the actual US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are proudly on display!
Imagine how the president must feel as you walk down the Inaugural Parade Route, which will soon be filled with parades, floats and cheering crowds celebrating his triumph. You’ll also pass one of DC’s tallest structures, the soon-to-be Trump Tower Hotel, and stroll through Freedom Plaza to see the L’Enfant Plan, a city plan that French architect Pierre L’Enfant drafted in 1791 for our first president, George Washington.
With your guide and group, cheers to this special occasion with a mint julep cocktail at the Round Robin Bar at the Willard Hotel, a perfect way to top off your tour.
This exclusive DC tour is free and will take place Saturday November 3rd from 2–4pm. Spaces are limited, so RSVP now to be part of this exciting election time!
